THE PROJECT

Artist's Rendering

Plans are underway to relocate the current Scituate Animal Shelter to a four-acre site on the corner of Route 3A and Mann Lot Road in Scituate, known as "The 3A Farm." A new 2,500 square foot facility will be built to accommodate the growing area need to help stray, homeless, injured, and surrendered companion animals.

THIS PROPOSAL INVOLVES NO TAX DOLLARS.

The Scituate Animal Shelter is the envy of others towns because it is a no-kill facility that also provides support to animal control officers from surrounding towns. The Shelter accepts strays from the town of Scituate and the towns of Cohasset, Hingham, Hull, and Norwell, providing medical care and adoption services. The Shelter also offers the following to Scituate residents: feral cat trap neuter release program, low cost spay/neuter assistance and educational programs for children. For the region the Shelter offers adoption services, support of local law enforcement and animal control agencies and animal care advice.
